Useful Hairs

What is the usefulness of hair?

Apparently, scalp hair does not serve any purpose greater than giving an individual a sporty look. You feel happy when someone passes a complimentary remark on your hairstyle and may be a bit goofy when someone criticises you for being untidy at the top. But have you ever wondered what purpose hair really serves other than giving you a youthful and exuberant look? And more importantly, what will you do just in case you face a situation where you have no or very few strands of hair left on your head to comb?

What does hair do?

In mammals, hair basically serves two purposes. First, it keeps them warm and second, it provides a marginal amount of protection against foreign objects. With a thin covering of scalp hair, you would probably have felt a lot chillier even in not-so-cold weather. Now the probability of such a situation occurring to you is real as many men around the world lose their scalp hair to a condition known as male pattern baldness (MPB).

What might happen when hair is gone?

Male pattern baldness is reportedly the most frequently occurring type of hair loss in men. It is a genetic-cum-hormonal type of baldness characterised by steady loss of hair over a long period of time. Being a progressive form of baldness, it can take years for you to even notice the onset of MPB. It happens with many men that by the time they come to know about hair loss, much of their hair is already gone. But hang on! Not everything about this type of hair loss is so starkly bare. There is good news related to male pattern hair loss treatment.

Introduction to Propecia

On December 22, 1997, the US Food and Drug Administration approved a drug called finasteride for male pattern hair loss treatment. This type-II 5-alpha reductase inhibitor drug was originally discovered in the early 1990s by researchers from Merck & Co., USA. Now with the opportunity to buy Propecia in the UK, many Brits have been able to turn their fortunes head-on! If recommended by a doctor, you can take this medicine to prevent hair loss and regrow new hair within 2 years.
